A European Hotel in California

Lucky is a word I don't use all that often but, it had to be my lucky day when I stumbled upon a gorgeous website for a European inspired boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Monica, California! My family and friends can tell you.....I love to plan travel details for
my family and friends.  I can spend very little time zeroing in on beautiful places for a holiday. My goal is to always look for beautifully appointed rooms and accommodations in quaint locations. This time, the hotel had to be special because we were planning a special birthday celebration for my oldest daughter, Kristen.  Three of my children live in the Los Angeles area so it made the most sense for the other two daughters to fly there for our fun filled weekend! After reading about the hotel online, I went straight to the website and it gave great information and photos of the hotel. It was the perfect place!

I have a habit of calling reservations for the best deal.  Again, my lucky day when I spoke to a reservation specialist who was excited to help me make my daughter's birthday special. His recommendations made it a perfect location! We stayed at the Palihouse Hotel which is just a few blocks from the beach.  The building is historic with all the historic charm I have found in France and England! The courtyard welcomes you like a manor house with beautiful landscaping and patios straight out of France!  There is even an Italian Bocce court in the front.  When guest walk in, the decor and colors remind me of England but honestly it could be in France as well.  The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable and guest are welcome to set anywhere for an early morning coffee or freshly prepared juice.  In the afternoon, there are an assortment of teas and pastries available for guest.

We stayed in Penthouse One and it was perfect for the six of us!  The French doors opened onto patios where we caught up, laughed, and celebrated for three whole days.  On our final morning we enjoyed a perfectly prepared breakfast from their kitchen.  Throughout our stay, we were given wonderful juices, coffees, and anything else we asked for! A great staff!  I always thought I would never find the European touches in the states, but The Palihouse in Santa Monica is my new hotel of choice when I visit my family in southern California.
